We're re-imagining events and changing the status quo to ensure accessibility for all.

Get AccessGive Access

What We Do

We’re all about accessibility – in an easy to understand and make it happen kind of way. We’ll teach you how to produce accessible marketing, speak to your workplace about the importance of access equity, or staff your event with an interpreter even if it’s less than 24 hours away.

Make Events Accessible

A space for everyone

Events can be exhilarating. Events can be overwhelming too.

Imagine attempting to scan through an event invitation and not knowing if the event will be in your primary language, if you can enter the building with ease should you be running late, or getting to the event only to experience overwhelm in an auditory or visual way.

We’ll make sure your event is fully accessible from inception to close.

Foster Workplace Diversity

A safe place to work

Diversity is crucial to the success of any modern business in the United States. According to the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, 19.3% of people living with a disability were employed in 2019. By contrast, the employment population ratio for people living without a disability was 66.3%.

Why the gap? More often than not, it’s: perceived limitations, systemic barriers, or fear of the unknown. Every single person deserves to feel genuinely safe, welcome and free to be 100 percent themselves 100 percent of the time.

It starts from the top down. We’ll take you there.

Charitable Giving

Make America more accessible

Charitable contributions provide our team with the opportunity to scale at a pace that is adequate to the real-time accessibility needs of individuals, communities and organizations.

Your donation makes a direct impact toward increasing social equity for people living with physical and psychological differences. At Invest In Access, we have a proven track record of success, the expertise required to do the work and together with your help:

We will make a significant dent toward making America more accessible for everyone.

Accessibility For Your Growing Business

61 million adults in the United States live with a disability.

That is equal to 1 in 4 adults living with different access needs who simply want to freely enjoy their lives without the accessibility barriers that society puts upon them.

When you mitigate barriers, and equalize the needs of the disability community, you create a wider audience for your business goals. More individuals will attend your events, buy your products and try your services.

With just a little guidance from Invest In Access you can build a wider demographic of people who know, enjoy and love your brand.

Angela Johnson and her team over at Invest In Access are top tier! IIA has been securing interpreters for us since June 2020; elevating our programming in ways we’ve dreamed about since our inception. Making accessibility a priority is done with ease with Invest In Access, and with a quick turn around, we can always ensure our commitment to this priority.

– Dria Brown; she/her, Chief of Staff, Broadway Advocacy Coalition

NAMT first worked with Invest In Access for our online Fall Conference in 2020. It was not only our first time hiring ASL interpreters, but also our first large-scale online event. Invest In Access was so easy to work with, and the team was a joy to have in the virtual room. I'm very grateful for their guidance and flexibility, and we're looking forward to working with them again both online and in-person.

Adam Grosswirth; he/him, Member Services Director, National Alliance for Musical Theatre

When our team first contacted Invest In Access, we were so excited to chat. At least 20% of our excitement to connect was based on how strong Angela Johnson's emoji game was, and the other 80% was because we were blown away by Angela’s expertise, warmth and knowledge. She continues to nail it on both fronts.

– Jessica Ryan & Joseph White, CEO & COO, Broadway Unlocked

Invest In Access helps bridge the gap between events and accessibility with seamless, turnkey solutions. Contacting Angela is at the top of my list whenever I receive a contract for a new event.

Services We Provide

ASL Interpretation

American Sign Language (ASL) is a complete, natural language that has the same linguistic properties as spoken languages, with grammar that differs from English. It is the primary language of many North Americans who identify as Deaf or Hard of Hearing and is used by many hearing people as well.

ADA Compliance

The United States Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 is federal law that prohibits discrimination on the basis of disability. Gaining a comprehensive understanding of the Titles, and Revisions of the ADA, will ensure that organization is carrying out equitable best practices of inclusion. That’s where we come in.

Captioning

Captioning your audio content is an essential process step that ensures your message can reach individuals who identify as Deaf or Hard of Hearing. Moreover, captioning benefits everyone. Whether you’re in the market to learn how to self caption or you’re seeking an expedited way to get your content captioned, we’re here to help.

Event Management

Onsite or Virtual

Ensuring that your event is accessible from inception saves you time and money. Check accessibility logistics off your list early and feel at ease knowing you’ve done the work to ensure that everyone who attends your event can enjoy the same equitable experience.

Ghostwriting

‘The best of intentions’ can land you between a rock and a hard place. Leave the writing to us. We’ll ensure that you’re striking an appropriate tone as it relates to accessibility, and teach you one or two things along the way.

Virtual Accessibility Consulting

It’s more important than ever before to know the ins and outs of virtual accessibility: what it is, what it entails and how to effectively reach the widest audience possible. We’ll jump on a virtual conference call, learn your circumstance, and advise you the best way to move forward.
